LEARN MORE ABOUT MAY DAY MEMORIAL SURF CLASSIC
The May Day Memorial Classic is an annual surfing competition held in Flagler Beach, Florida, on the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend. The event serves as a tribute to Dollie Sue Watson, who passed away unexpectedly from heart disease in 2006. Dollie Sue was a loving mother, wife, ICU nurse, and staple in the community. The competition draws surfers from all over the country to compete in various categories, including professional and amateur, longboard and shortboard divisions. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Center for Cardiology at Halifax Health and to promote heart health and provide access to world-class health care in our community. The May Day Memorial Classic is a beloved community event that celebrates the sport of surfing while also honoring the memory of a respected member of the Flagler Beach surfing community.
